Ways to Embrace Mistakes as Life’s Lessons

There are no mistakes in life; only lessons. What this means is that whenever something happens, there is a gem for you to learn from. If you can learn to accept mistakes, shortcomings, and unwanted events as opportunities for learning and personal growth, then you’ll feel less stressed and fearful, you’ll be more confident and self-assured, and your life experience will be more rewarding and fun.

If you do something incorrectly or wrong, or you do something that makes you feel bad, you may get angry with yourself. Most of us have a habit of beating ourselves up mentally over and over again.

The fact is that when you make a mistake, there is a lesson for you to learn. Mistakes are gifts. They offer you the opportunity to explore an area where perhaps you are deficient, need additional knowledge or training, or need to reevaluate your approach. Perhaps you were rushing. Whatever the reason, if you take the time to explore what happened, you can learn what you need to know to correct the situation and to put systems in place so that this same mistake does not recur.

Some people refuse to accept that they did anything wrong. It was someone else or it was the system. This is known as a victim mentality. They rationalize, deny, make excuses, justify, and blame. These people have not yet learned to accept responsibility for themselves and for their actions.
When you do something wrong or something doesn’t quite work out the way you want, there are ways of managing it so that you learn the lesson, move on from it, and grow stronger in the process. By adopting these three approaches to life, you can learn to handle yourself gracefully and deepen your relationships with yourself and with others.

1) Be open to making mistakes
Accept that you’re human and that each of us will do things we regret. Each of us will take a wrong turn, hurt someone’s feelings, or make bad choices. Be open to making mistakes and embrace them as an opportunity to learn valuable life lessons. They hurt sometimes – a lot of the time. But if you open to learning from your mistakes, you will be able to move on rather than wallowing in regret or disappointment. If you don’t learn the lesson, it will repeat itself again and again in different situations until you get it. Experience is a hard teacher.

2) Be aware
In other words, look for areas of improvement. Be on the lookout for “mistakes” or ways to strengthen your character. Be aware of what you are doing, why you are doing it, how you feel, and how you make others feel. This way of thinking is about being proactive and seeking betterment to avoid unnecessary blunders. If you are aware of how your behaviors impact others, then you can determine whether that is enhancing or hurting your relationships.
You are responsible for how you are received by others.

This is a matter of emotional intelligence. You must be aware of the impact your words and actions have on others. Sometimes, your words just don’t land right or you say something but it is not what you meant to say. People have difficulty expressing what they really mean. By being fully aware of how you impact others, you maintain an open state of learning which allows you to constantly practice being a better person – a better you.

3) Accept full responsibility for yourself and your life

Whatever happens, whenever you make a mistake or you are involved in a misunderstanding, take responsibility. There is always something to be learned or improved even if the other person was wrong too.

Accepting responsibility is liberating. Yes, it’s hard to admit you were wrong. But it demonstrates strength, courage, and a commitment to personal excellence. It’s respectful. By doing so, you demonstrate that you care about yourself and the other person.

When you accept full responsibility for yourself, you also accept responsibility for making things right. If something was done poorly, then you can fix it. If something was misunderstood, then focus on building greater understanding in your relationships. When you accept responsibility, you demonstrate the highest level of respect for yourself and others. And you learn to make better choices to avoid problems, mistakes, and misunderstandings in the future.

By being open to learning life’s lessons from every event, situation, and encounter; by maintaining an awareness of how you are received in relationships with others; and by accepting complete responsibility for yourself; you empower yourself to create richer, more meaningful relationships with others. You also will also develop more self-respect and learn to stop beating yourself up over your mistakes; instead taking responsibility, making things right where necessary, and committing yourself to developing greater integrity and a more mature character.

Most of us have learned how to keep our heart closed in a world that would trample all over us if we let it. Being open hearted today seems to require tremendous courage. Chakras Explained For Those New To Spirituality

 

If you’ve found this article, you’ve probably got some questions about Chakras. Perhaps you’ve just heard the word used and are looking for a definition, or maybe you’re looking for a little more in depth information. I’m not going to try to be the be-all end-all guru on Chakras, but we will look at some of the basics, with a little more in depth information thrown in that I feel is useful if you’re interested in studying further or learning how to develop a higher consciousness of yourself, your spiritual life, and the impact you have on the world, as well as the world’s impact on you.

 

The word Chakra originates in the Sanskrit word cakra, which means wheel, or circle and didn’t gain popularity in English, or even the western world until very recently. Historic mentions of the word Chakra or its plural Chakras didn’t emerge until late in the last century around 1967. It was during that time that westerners began to be exposed to more eastern religions, and began to become aware of spirituality that included the self, rather than being focused on worship of a single deity.

 

There are seven basic Chakras that are recognized nearly universally, and quite a few more that are not necessarily controversial, but aren’t as widely discussed. For the purposes of this article we’ll look at the seven Chakras that are more widely recognized.

 

Each of the seven Chakras can be thought of as a spinning energy wheel inside our bodies. They process subtle energy that we may not even be aware of in the physical realm and convert it to chemical, cellular or hormonal shifts within our bodies. The Chakras react to different physical, emotional and spiritual forces at work in our every day world. In order to bring these seven energy centers into harmony, you have to be aware at a physical and at a spiritual level of everything you’re exposing yourself to. The people you interact with, the foods you eat, even the television you watch or the music you listen to can negatively or positively effect your Chakras.

 

We’ll look at each of the seven Chakras in the order they’re within your body, from top to bottom:

 

The Crown Chakra:

 

The Crown Chakra is exactly where its name says: the top of your head, where a crown would sit, were you wearing one, your highness. On the physical level, it supports deep brain functions and most of your bodily functions that you can’t consciously control like your reaction to pain (it hurts!) or your heart beating. If you have reached a state of consciousness where you can turn off pain, or control each beat of your heart, you likely aren’t reading this article.

 

The Crown Chakra can become out of balance when you lose a sense of connection or relationship with your higher power. That’s right: Chakras aren’t necessarily against your religion, just because they aren’t mentioned in your particular holy texts. This Chakra can also become out of balance or weak if you’re feeling lonely, or are unsatisfied with your career. Symptoms of a weak Crown Chakra are often migraine or tension headaches.

 

The Third Eye Chakra

 

This Chakra is right I the middle of your forehead. Right there where you’d have an eye, if you were an ogre, perhaps. (Don’t tell Shrek I said that, Ok?) A weakened Third Eye Chakra can be caused by a loss of sense of purpose, either in your personal, or professional life. Most often, symptoms of an out of whack Third Eye Chakra are headaches that occur towards the temples.

 

The Throat Chakra

 

Once again, this Chakra is right where its name says it is (see, this isn’t so difficult after all, is it?) and deals with issues of honesty and communication. Your Throat Chakra can become weak if you have trouble, or more often are afraid of self expression. If your personality is repressed that is, if you aren’t able to be your true self, or you often feel compelled to just go along, even though you don’t really want to, it is likely your Throat Chakra has become out of balance. Physical symptoms of a weak Throat Chakra are sore throats, swollen glands and disorders of the gums and teeth.

 

The Heart Chakra.

 

I’m not even going to say it. You know where this Chakra is by now. And, where do you think we get expressions like “heartbroken” from? Its from the Heart Chakra, which can become weak when you’re feeling unloved, are struggling with self-acceptance or are simply experiencing bad relationships, professional, platonic, familial and romantic. Most often, a weakened Heart Chakra manifests itself as chest pain, asthma or circulatory problems.

 

The Solar Plexus Chakra.

 

For those of you who don’t know, your solar plexus is directly behind your belly, along your spine. Now, the Solar Plexus Chakra becomes unbalanced if you’re experiencing issues controlling yourself. If you lack self control, or if you’re struggling with your self esteem, you’ve likely knocked your Solar Plexus Chakra out of balance. Most often, this Chakra being weak manifests as stomach pains and upset stomachs.

 

The Sacral Chakra

 

The “Fun” Chakra, the Sacral Chakra deals with self image issues and sex. Like I said, the fun Chakra. This Chakra is located, quite honestly in our hips and our genitals. A weakened or out of balance Sacral Chakra is caused by body image issues, and from poor or painful sexual experiences. If you have trouble opening up to someone in a relationship, you most likely have an out of kilter Sacral Chakra.

 

The one significant symptom of a weak Sacral Chakra is a lack of sexual desire, or even a self doubt as to your sexual appeal.

 

The Root Chakra

 

Dealing with money and our sense of security and belonging, the Root Chakra can become weak if you see money as the solution to your well being. If you totally depend on circumstances beyond your control for your sense of belonging or of self worth, you will most definitely knock your Root Chakra severely out of balance. Symptoms of an unbalanced Root Chakra are often eating disorders, unexplained leg pains and immune system disorders.

What is Emotional Freedom?

Emotional freedom can be a difficult concept for most of us to define, as it means 10 different things to 10 different people. The average person tends to struggle with their emotions, as there are certain feelings that are tough to overcome and events take place during the course of our existence that is not easily processed.

 

To me, emotional freedom means having the ability to place our emotions to the side and handle an issue while we are in the proper state of mind to do so. How many times have you over reacted to something that took place, only to be forced into a sheepish apology at a later date? How often do we end up thinking over past regrets in our heads and end up making ourselves miserable in the process?

 

When we truly embrace the concept of emotional freedom, we no longer have to be a victim of our emotional swings. In my life, I’ve experienced countless heartbreaks and personal setbacks, but thanks to emotional freedom, I realize that these issues do not have to define who I am as a person.

 

We all have that one friend or family member who cannot break free of these chains and these are the people who we should be using as inspiration. Instead, I find that we tend to fall into the trap of believing that our feelings somehow trump other people’s, that we “deserve” to feel the way that we feel.

 

On the other hand, we look at other people and our first instinct is to tell them to get over it and move on. Emotional freedom is all about taking that same advice and applying it to our own existence, instead of being hypocritical.

 

One of the questions that I am asked most often is how to go about the process of obtaining emotional freedom. Clearly, this is not something that happens overnight and we must take the proper steps to achieve our goals.

 

The best way to get started is to begin by taking responsibility for your own feelings. While this concept may certainly seem simple, it seems to elude a lot of folks. We have a tendency to blame others for making us feel angry or sad, as opposed to examining the context of the situation and figuring out what is going on inside of our own psyches.

 

Taking responsibility for your feelings is as easy as splitting them into two different groups. There are the feelings that are brought on by our own actions and thoughts (which are also described as wounded feelings).

 

For example, let’s say you are in the process of creating a speech or presentation at your place of employment, but you have placed a lot of pressure on yourself not to mess it up. This causes us to feel anxiety and in order to obtain emotional freedom, we must be willing to look within and pay attention to our own needs.

 

By getting more in tune with ourselves and realizing when we are causing our own depression or anxiety, we are able to free ourselves from the tyranny of our own emotions. Wounded feelings are the product of our own experiences and when we refuse to acknowledge this fact, we tend to become excessively dependent on others for our own happiness.

 

The other group of feelings that we experience are our core feelings, which are caused by circumstances and events, as opposed to our own innate issues. I, like most of us, have been in a few terrible relationships (romantic and otherwise) over the course of my life. These relationships are toxic and core feelings are the mind’s way of letting you know that you need to make a change, immediately.

 

While I am here to tell you that we do not cause this feeling, we do have more control over them than we realize. Most of us are familiar with the concept that we do not control what other people do and that all we have control over is our reaction to their choices.

 

Emotional freedom means refusing to allow the actions of others to affect our own personal feelings. When we feel lonely, sad or heartbroken as the result of someone else’s actions, it is important to manage these emotions, since they have the potential to become wounded feelings if we are not careful.

 

In order to achieve true emotional freedom, you must make a conscious decision to take full responsibility for your own feelings. This means no more blaming your parents, your friends, your former significant others, your bosses or anyone else for how you feel. Feeling anger or sadness is a typical aspect of the human experience, but these feelings do not have to seize control over your thought process.

 

Those who avoid taking responsibility for their feelings are doomed to experience wounded feelings forever. They end up becoming a “victim” in every situation and turn into the type of person who honestly believes that they would be happy and well adjusted, if only the world would decide to stop picking on them and treat them more nicely.

 

Emotional freedom is achieved gradually, but the first step is to accept the role that you play. Our feelings must be embraced, instead of avoided. When we embrace our sad and angry feelings, we develop a far greater ability to learn from them and use them to grow as a person, instead of stagnating.

Staying Focused

The one who keeps their destination in focus will be successful.

As we travel toward our destination, it’s easy to get distracted. We sometimes become so busy thinking about little things that affect our lives that we lose focus and stop moving forward.

First I need to clarify my goal, then think about how I’m going to work toward it. When situations arise to distract me I need to remind myself that they are only sideshows; they are not important. Instead, to find success, I need to keep my energies focused on my destination.

The energy field surrounding the physical body can be seen by some as radiating and filled with light. I checked every book pamphlet and article and old lecture note I could find for what colors mean in the aura and just am going to put in almost everything any one said, obviously there are apparent conflicts.

Healers often have green, blue, or Violet in the aura, happily Pregnant women run to pastels, lovers often have a glow of rose throughout the aura, intellectual activities can show up as yellow tones clear pure colors are indicative of stronger harmony than muddy colors

An aura is an energy field that surrounds living objects and objects that hold some kind of Power. Each color in an aura represents different traits and aspects of that person or thing – and how you see an aura depends on the individual.

They can be used to determine someone’s general state, someone’s mood, and their current state of health. Every time you come in close proximity or contact with another person, your aura reacts with theirs. If your aura and theirs are in a like state or tuned to the same frequency, you may find yourself liking them instantly. If their aura is not at all like yours, you may find yourself taking an instant dislike to them.

Colors of Auras

Red:

The color of strength, strong passion, and willpower. Also a colour of energy, fire, drive, determination, and fire. Can reflect anger, love, hate and unexpected changes. This colour reflects love as well, although more to the physical nature of love.

Dark red may symbolize one who has a quick temper and is nervous or unpredictable. It may also reflect serious aggression, uncontrolled lust, or violence. Dark reds can indicate illnesses in the reproductive system, or ailments relating to sexual function.

Orange:

The color of warmth, thoughtfulness, and creativity. This colour may also reflect on courage and joy. An opening new awareness. Golden orange denotes self-control and self-knowledge. Orange is also the colour of physical pleasure. The muddier shades of orange may indicate pride or vanity, as well as worry or anxiety. A person with orange in their aura may suffer from kidney ailments or lower GI issues.

Yellow:

This colour shows mental activity and optimism; it can also mean new learning opportunities. A golden yellow means that the person takes care of him/herself. Yellow can also reflect wisdom, intellect, enthusiasm, and early spiritual development. Muddy yellow may represent the owner is shy or withdrawn. It can also reflect too much thinking, being over-critical, or feeling deprived. Sickness associated with dark yellow are usually chest or stomach ailments.

Green:

Is the color of sympathy and calm. It can also reflect empathy, sensitivity, and emotional growth relating to relationships with others. People who are predominantly green are reliable, dependable, open-minded, and may have a healing ability Dark shades of green can indicate one who is jealous or uncertain. It can also indicate someone who has closed off their heart to others, to avoid being hurt. Aliments associated with green in the aura are generally related to the heart and blood.

Blue:

The color of quiet and calm. Blue also represents spiritual devotion, seeking the truth. Blue is the colour of communication. A lighter shade means active imagination. Finding royal blue means the person is given to honesty and has good judgment. Any blue in the aura is good to have, but deep, clear blue is the best. One with deep blue in his or her aura shows a person who has found their purpose in life. Deeper shades of blue can reflect loneliness, blocked perceptions, or someone given to rushing into things. Blue may sometimes represent a tendency to be moody and depressed if it appears to be smoky, or greyish. Ailments associated with blue are usually throat, or mouth/teeth related.

Purple or Indigo:

The colors of one who is seeking something in life that is greater than themselves. Purple reflects the blending of heart and mind with physical and spiritual. It can also mean independence, and a high level of active intuition. Purple also shows an ability to handle affairs with worldliness and practicality. Cosmic connections. A need to overcome something blocking development, or feeling misunderstood. Also intense erotic imagination without release, or over-bearing personality. Illnesses connected with purple are often brain problems, or neurological disorders, as well as mental illness.

Pink:

Pale pinks show compassion, emotional love, purity, joy, comfort, and love of art and beauty. Darker muddy shades of this colour reflect immaturity, a lack of compassion, or a lack of truthfulness. Also related to heart illnesses or emotional problems.

White:

Many times this is one of the first colors you will see when learning to read aura because all the colors of the energy field are blurring together. It takes focus to be able to let them blend out. However, when it is a true and strong color of the aura, it reflects purity and truth. It may also be someone who is cleansing and purifying themselves. Dull or off-white may reflect a newly acquired taint, or the need to continue cleansing.

Grey:

Reflects a movement toward un/veiling ability. Also neutrality, balance. Dark grey shows physical imbalances, a secretive nature, and deception.

Brown:

This could reflect a person who is very “earthy” – found above the head reflects new growth while around the feet reflects grounding, setting down roots. It can also reflect openness, and an understanding of the world as being interconnected (“All My Relations”). Dark or sickly browns, if seen in areas of chakras or energy centers, means those centers need to be cleansed. Can also mean a deliberate blockage. If found in a particular area with another dark or muddy colour can indicate the start of severe illness.

Black:

Black carries with it both positive and negative meanings, despite it having only one tone. (There is no clear/muddy split here.) On the positive side, black is the color of protection. It can also mean deliberate withdrawal or internalization. On the negative side of black, it can show in a person who’s hiding something to deceive another. It may possibly indicate imbalances as well. If seen on the outer edges it means holes in the field. The presence of black spots in the aura may indicate that it is imbalanced in some areas. That may mean that person has some negative habits that he or she should work on. Meditation sometimes helps to reduce these spots, as does things like exercise and sunlight.

Silver Lights, or Twinkles:

Seeing these in a person’s aura may mean that they are pregnant, or are soon to be. However, it may also represent a person who is allowing great creativity in their lives.

Sickness in the body is reflected in the auric field. By working in your auric field, it is possible to remove illness there or avert it and later this will be reflected in your body, as better health.

The aura is essential to healing because it is the first place you generate health. As with all things in life, making any type of change requires energy. You must first change the energy within your aura to create the health you desire.

There is a whole division of the aura dedicated to physical well-being. This health division shows itself in several ways. For example, there are striations of light that emanate from either side of the body and are the indicators of health status. These striations-called health lines are like spiritual power lines to the body.

The health lines are a striking feature in the aura and one of the first areas I look at when reading a person’s aura. When we’re healthy, the lines are a brilliant silvery white in color and move out in a straight line perpendicular to our body. When we are ill, the health lines start to turn gray and begin to droop.

The organs of the body each have their own aura. When healthy, the lungs and heart have blue auras, the liver usually has a red-Orange aura, the stomach a pink aura, and the brain has a green aura. The body itself radiates an Orange-red aura along its contours for about an inch and a half when healthy. Even the cells of our body have an aura, a tiny, bright silver aura, revealing their inherent intelligence.

When we become ill, the aura becomes discolored. The primary color of illness is gray. Other unhealthy energies come into play, such as Black, Mustard yellow, Avocado green, and red, but the predominant color is gray. Gray indicates a devitalization of spiritual power in the affected area in the body.

The miracle of the aura is that by calling on the source of your auric power-spiritual energy you can send light to the affected bodily area and reverse that negative momentum. I have seen many wonderful testaments to the power of spiritual healing, from Divine Light helping to alleviate a headache to its helping dissolve malignant tumors.

There are several spiritual energies that you can call on for healing. The three energies I work with the most are the Orange-red flame, the blue-white fire, and the pure white light. The Orange-red flame is a purifying energy that helps break up negative energy associated with any illness. The blue-white fire is the single greatest healing ray there is. It brings in new life force and regenerates the body. The pure white light is an uplifting energy and helps to repair the atomic structure of the body.

You draw in these healing rays through Meditation. By Meditating with Divine Light, you can make some of the fastest and most effective changes to your aura, which will have a corresponding effect on your body. I have taught Meditation for many years. In my new book The Healing Power of Your Aura, I illustrate the techniques for drawing spiritual energy into the part of you that needs healing.

Our thoughts and emotions play an important part in effective healing and in maintaining health. Although I do not believe every physical ailment has a mental or emotional root, it has been my clairvoyant observation and experience that 50 to 75 percent of our ills are of our own making! Without our realizing it, destructive states of thinking and feeling can create an environment in which disease and physical distress can grow into the most terrible of conditions.

Creating a proper mental attitude of health is essential in working with the aura. If you’re asking God’s light to heal you yet are harboring old destructive patterns of thinking, you impede your spiritual energy flow. Perfect health starts in your mind. Once your mind is thinking in terms of God and health, it is the Divine Light being expressed through the aura that provides the power necessary to actually make the change.

Fortunately, your aura is working for you constantly to build and maintain health, whether you are aware of it or not. Yet when you work in conscious cooperation with your aura and the light, its effectiveness is greatly multiplied. Working with spiritual energy works very well in conjunction with other medical and holistic practices, as all are part of the total picture of what healing is.

You will find that by working with your aura and spiritual energy, you have discovered the single greatest key to building and sustaining health. Perhaps the greatest blessing of all is that by applying the spiritual laws of health to physical conditions, you are discovering the secret to healthy living in all departments of your life and are drawing yourself closer to your Divine Source.
